What happens during the Session?

I combine Hypnotherapy and Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) which are both individually recognized as highly successful ways of changing peoples behaviors and perceptions. So I'm sure you can imagine the amazing benefits of combining these two powerful techniques, allowing you to quickly and easily change the thoughts and behaviors you currently have regarding smoking. Will power becomes unnecessary as you just find yourself changing in beneficial ways.

I do smoking cessation over a series of up to three sessions, usually spaced 2-3 days apart, as statistics show this provides better results.


During the first session:

  • We explore the reasons you have for continuing the smoking habit.

  • I explain the techniques we will use to help you modify your smoking behavior to become a non-smoker.

  • Together we determine your quit date.

  • I conduct some suggestibility testing to determine how suggestible you are to hypnosis.

  • I give you “home work” designed to reinforce breaking the nicotine habit.

  • I provide you with a CD designed to condition you into a relaxed state. This CD can also be used after you become a non-smoker when you face stressful situations, as research shows that there is a high correlation between experiencing stress and returning to smoking for stress relief.  

Many clients leave the office and never pick up a cigarette after this initial session.  Some find that they have cut down considerably, or stopped by the second session but still have a desire to smoke.

During the second session:

  • I guide you into a pleasant and relaxed hypnotic state during which you will remain in control and will be fully aware of everything that is happening.

  • Using advanced hypnotherapy and powerful NLP techniques we begin the process of breaking the smoking habit. Using the detailed information I have gathered during the first session, this session is tailored to address the factors that play into your reasons for smoking.

  • You receive a reinforcement CD to support your life choice to be a non-smoker.

  • You leave as a non-smoker*.

 Rarely have I needed to conduct a third session. 

  • If you require a third session, we will then spend the entire third session dealing in detail with the specific reasons behind your smoking habit, or reinforcing your new-found lifestyle as a non-smoker using advanced hypnotherapy and NLP techniques.
